The Seward Volunteer Fire Department was incorporated in 1906 and is located in beautiful
Seward, Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula. During the summer months, our population can grow up
to 10,000 people with the arrival of cruise ships. In the winter, Seward turns back into it's small
town atmosphere of about 2800 people. The department is mostly volunteer, with the Chief,
Deputy Chief and one Admin Staff paid.
If red is your color, then you will love our Apparatus Page where you will find pictures and
information on all of our vehicles. Keep up to date on meeting times, training activities, and
public events on our Calendar. Our Gallery Page will be the place to see our volunteers in
action. On our History Page you can see what kind of equipment was used, and some of the
calls responded to.
If you would like information on volunteering or have questions for the Chief, contact Chief
Squires at dsquires@cityofseward.net, or call 907-224-3445. For local government information, you
can visit the City's website at www.cityofseward.us.
