The Seward Volunteer Fire Department was incorporated in 1906 and is located in beautiful
Seward, Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula. During the summer months, our population can grow up to 10,000
people with cruise ships arriving. In the winter, Seward turns back into it's small town atmosphere
of about 2800 people. The department is mostly volunteer, with the Chief, Deputy Chief and one Admin
Staff paid. On our History Page you can see what kind of equipment was used, and some of the
calls responded to. Our Personnel Page will introduce you to the many hard working volunteers
that allow our department to function, and let's not forget our Chief, Deputy Chief, and Administrative
Staff. If red is your color, then you will love our Apparatus Page where you will find pictures
and information on all of our vehicles, including our new KME Engine, Walk-In Heavy Rescue, and our Willy's
Jeep. We have fun stuff for the kids on our Kid's Page, too. Visit our Hot Links Page,
if you can't get enough of firefighting and equipment. If you are a number cruncher kind of guy/gal,
then look at our Stats Page where you can compare our runs. Check out the different calls SVFD has been on and what activities happen on the 4th of July in Seward, Alaska on the Gallery
Page. Thanks for visiting our site and learning about our fire department. Please take the time to view our new Guestbook and leave a message! Just click on the link below.
